For the opening gala of the celebration of Stephen Sondheim's 70th birthday, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra presented 3 performances of Sweeney Todd. Tickets for this event fetched $1,000 each as people flocked to be a part of this birthday celebration.

The performances were held in Avery Fisher Hall of Lincoln Center and were a smashing success. For a review, click here.
