St.
Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church
Brooklyn
When
Father Patrick Burns chose the Allen Renaissance two-manual
53-stop organ for beautiful St. Martin of Tours Church in Bushwick,
Brooklyn, he chose the largest two manual organ in Allen's premier
line of Renaissance organs. With its floating Ancillary division
which includes strings and reeds, this two-manual organ, which
speaks from a choir loft more than 25 feet above the name, is
one of the best buys with its large number of stops (53) and
large number of channels (seven).
Organist Greg Leonardo praised the sound and the flexibility
of the Allen. Present organist Lawrence Harris also has been
more than complimentary about the organ, the installation, and
the remarkable ability to use a laptop computer to voice, balance,
and redefine the stops of the organ.
For Allen Organ Studios of Mineola, this installation in St.
Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, Brooklyn, also meant
that Allen Organs have been installed in not one, not two, but
in three different St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Churches
in three different counties: Brooklyn, Nassau,
and Suffolk.
